A deliciously easy appetizer that is so simple anyone can do it. From the gooey cheese and bacon filling to the slightly crunchy coating it will leave you wanting more.
This is a family recipe that immediately gets DEVOURED when it gets put on the table. If you aren’t a big spicy person don’t worry because this has minimal spice. Any time there is a gathering or holiday my husband asks “can you make Jalapeño Poppers?” He’s obsessed and I don’t blame him.
I’ve even made them Vegan once for my in-laws and they came out pretty close to the originals.
If you have little ones around make sure you are extra careful with the preparation process. My sister once told me about a friend who was dealing with peppers and grabbed their baby. They couldn’t figure out why the baby kept crying and then it hit them…THE PEPPERS! So I always wear gloves when dealing with these; the last thing I want to do is rub my eye or worse have McKenna having to deal with it.
How are these not that spicy?
Well, when you take the seeds and membrane out of the Jalapeño it takes away most of the spice, so if you like it more spicy then leave some of that in tact.
How can you make these vegan?
You may be wondering when you see ALL THAT CHEESE! Well they actually make vegan cream cheese, cheddar cheese and bacon or rather “vacon”. Just kidding it’s not called that.
Looking for something else that has a bit of a spicy kick and is extremely easy to make? I love recipes that are “set it and forget it” so you are about to get some down with your food is preparing. Nothing is worse than having to babysit your food while also watching you child to make sure they aren’t up to something they shouldn’t be.

Jalapeño Poppers
A deliciously easy appetizer that is so simple anyone can do it. From the gooey cheese and bacon filling to the slightly crunchy coating it will leave you wanting more.
Ingredients
- 1/2-1 Cup dried breadcrumbs
- 1/2 Cup milk
- 1 Egg
- 12 Large Jalapeños
- 8oz Cream Cheese
- 1 Cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 1 Cup Shredded Monterey Jack
- 8 Strips of Bacon (cooked & crumbled)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Prepare 1 small bowl with milk and whisked egg mixture and 1 small bowl with bread crumbs
Mix cream cheese, shredded cheeses, bacon and seasonings until well combined
Turn oven on to 300 degrees and prepare baking sheet with parchment paper
Slice Jalapeños in half lengthwise and deseed (see note)
Fill each Jalapeño with cheese mixture
Dip Jalapeño in milk mixture then bread crumbs
Cook till golden and tender about 45min-1 hour
Once cooled enough.... DEVOUR
Notes
When working with Jalapeños wear food prep gloves. To deseed Jalapeños, use thumb to scrape out the seeds and membranes; you can use a knife or spoon but I find my thumb to be quickest.
