Want to have Mommy’s heart or even Grandma’s heart melt? This will do it and let me tell you how! It is a lot easier than it looks, so let me tell you how to get it right!
Supplies:
- 10x10inch piece of card board
- 1 dish towel (plus extra for trial run or use a piece of paper
- 1 pant or shirt hanger
- 3-4 binder clips
- Acrylic Pant (2 different colors)
- Paint brush
- Iron on Name & Year (optional, feel free to free hand)
- The best partner to entertain baby or have a sleepy baby
Steps:
- Fold dish towel in half, sticking the cardboard in between
- Fold dish towel in thirds keeping the cardboard in the middle third
- Attach the pant hanger and/or binder clips to each side of the dish towel
- Lay baby down and have partner entertain baby with a toy
- Paint the bottom of foot (make sure it’s not super thick)
- Hold up the dish towel and press foot (keep it short and sweet)
- Repeat steps 5 & 6 with opposite foot
- Paint stem and leaves
- Let dry completely
- Iron on Name & Year or free hand (continue reading if iron on)
- I used my Cricut Explore Air 2
- Press shiny side down on mat and cut out decal (make sure to turn on mirror setting)
- Peel clear sheet (decal) away from the colored sheet
- Use a towel in between decal and iron
- Peel off clear sheet when done ironing
What to avoid:
- Loading on globs of paint
- Dipping foot in paint
- Having a flimsy cardboard or nothing under dish towel
- Having a squirmy baby
