This addicting beef jerky is packed with an abundance amount of flavor with a nice kick. It is a great snack for a hike or soccer game; the only issue is, you will want to eat the whole batch!
Let me tell you how addicting this beef jerky is:
My mom would make this delicious beef jerky every summer; it blows the store bought jerky out of the water. Once you try it, you will never be tempted to buy the store bought one again.
You may be thinking that you’ve had some pretty awesome beef jerky, however this will be the best one!

- Downright addicting
Best cuts of meat for beef jerky
Look for a lean cut so it will have less fat to trim off. I personally love to get beef eye of round roast. If your local supermarket is out of that, ask the butcher what they recommend for making beef jerky. They’ll even slice it for you, which I would definitely take advantage of while you’re there. I suggest having it cut 1/4 inch.
A simple trick to help you slice the meat from home:
Freeze the meat 1-2 hours (remove it once you start to see it frost over). Having the meat more firm will make it easier to slice.
List of supplies and ingredients:
- Dehydrator
- Beef (eye of round)
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Soy sauce or coconut aminos
- Tabasco Sauce
- Liquid smoke
- Seasoning salt
- Onion Powder
- Garlic powder
- Red pepper flakes
What if you don’t have a dehydrator?
Don’t sweat it, preheat your oven to 175 degrees. Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with foil and top it with a cooling rack.
Pull each slice out of the marinated mixture and place it one the rack.
Cook for 2.5 hours and check to see how it is going. It usually will cook for 3-4 hours in the oven.
