Looking for a fool proof sweet treat? Or are you wanting something quick to satisfy your sweet tooth? Then Homemade Muddy Buddies are the way to go.

Some people know this famous treat by another name, “Puppy Chow.” Now to not break off topic too much, I HAVE to tell you this hilarious story that I will NEVER forget.

My mom would always make a container of Homemade Muddy Buddies for our neighbors, and one year I was telling a friend about how delicious the Muddy Buddies are. She asked “What’s that?” I replied with “Oh, well it’s also called puppy chow.” She responded with “Ohhh I’ve only ever had Pedigree.” I busted up laughing. 

Now for those that don’t have any dogs, yes you guessed it right, that is a brand of dog food. 

So of course I had to quickly clear up and explain to her what’s in the Chex Mix Puppy Chow Recipe. 

Chex Mix Puppy Chow Recipe

There is a minimal list of ingredients you’ll need, and they should be close by in your pantry! The only thing you may have to buy for this Chex Mix Puppy Chow Recipe is… Chex Mix. HAHA

Ingredients:

• Chocolate
• Peanut Butter (the best and tastiest)
• Chex Mix
• Powdered Sugar

Directions:

In 30 second increments microwave chocolate and peanut butter until it becomes smooth and creamy.

Dump the chocolate peanut butter mixture over the Chex mix.

When the Chex is fully coated, toss it in the powdered sugar.

I absolutely love receiving homemade goodies! It’s so fun to try other friends famous recipes that may soon become a family favorite. For some, they may hate baking and always feel like their treats are over or under-baked. That’s what’s so amazing about Peanut Butter Muddy Buddies. They are definitely fool proof. 

Just follow the directions on how to melt your chocolate to avoid burning the chocolate. Don’t be intimidated by that, it’s so simple I promise. 

I don’t know about you, but there is something about peanut butter and chocolate combined that is so delicious. Add a little Chex Mix with powdered sugar on top to create snowy magical Christmas Muddy Buddies.

Peanut Butter Muddy Buddies

Serves: 10 cups

Prep Time: 5 minutes – Cooking Time: 2 minutes – Total Time: 7 minutes

Addicting Peanut Butter Muddy Buddies are the quickest treat to make. The rich chocolate and peanut butter make the tastiest combination.

Ingredients

• 1 Corn Chex Mix (12 oz box)
• 1 1/3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
• 1/2 creamy peanut butter
• 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each time.

Once all melted pour melted chocolate mixture over Chex Mix in a large bowl.

Stir to evenly coat Chex Mix.

Transfer chocolate coated Chex Mix to a gallon size zip lock bag and dump powdered sugar on top.

Close bag and shake, shake, shake until Chex Mix is evenly coated in powdered sugar.
